The Underwater Portrait Masterclass

Singapore

For the first time, I’m bringing my Underwater Portrait Masterclass to Singapore. In a crowded photography market, being good isn’t always enough. Being different is.

6 photographers 1 intensive day No underwater experience required No underwater equipment required
A rare, premium skill

Underwater portraiture is one of the most sought-after skills in photography, and one of the hardest to learn on your own.

In a single, hands-on day, I’ll show you how to create underwater images from the ground up, and how to add this rare skill to your business. I know it works, because I’ve built an international business from it.

One skill. So many possibilities.

Learn from someone who does this every day

I’ve refined my system through thousands of real client sessions. Every technique I teach was developed solving real challenges and creating images for paying clients.

I trained on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and now, for the first time, I’m bringing that knowledge to Singapore in an intimate, hands-on Masterclass.

20+years as a photographer
15years specialising underwater
2xofficial FINA / World Aquatics underwater photographer, Europe
40+swim schools and venues, with clients in Australia and overseas
Why this Masterclass
When you offer something almost no one else can, you stop competing on price.

Clients seek you out, wait for you, and pay a premium for work they can’t get anywhere else. But the learning curve is steep and there’s almost no hands-on guidance. That’s why I built this.

Less trial and errorLess wasted moneyMore confidence
How the day works

Small by design

Six photographers, professional underwater camera systems, and real time in the water for everyone.

01

Morning, on dry land

Theory and foundations: your underwater system, the settings that work, my kit bag, and setting up for success before you get wet.

02

Lunch, ask me anything

A relaxed lunch together. Ask me how I built the business, found my first clients and how I price my work.

03

Afternoon, in the water

Put the theory you’ve learned into practice. Rotate in small groups to practise shooting, directing a subject and controlling your buoyancy, and take a turn in front of the camera yourself.

Inside the Masterclass

What you’ll walk away knowing

Your underwater system

How a housing, dome port, strobes and arms come together, and how to start without spending thousands.

Settings that work

The aperture, shutter, flash and focus approach I’ve refined over thousands of shoots.

Directing and posing

How to brief a subject before they submerge, so they look relaxed, natural and graceful.

Reading the water

Light, sun position, reflections and backscatter, and how to work with them, not against them.

Breath and buoyancy

Everyone floats differently. Learn to hold yourself steady and shoot with control.

Care and community

Looking after your gear, plus access to the private Liquid Pix Lab community afterwards.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need underwater experience?

No. What you do need is a solid grasp of your camera fundamentals. I’ll guide you through everything from the ground up.

Do I need my own underwater equipment?

No. All specialist equipment is provided, including professional underwater camera systems. Everyone learns on the same setup, and the skills transfer to your own gear.

What camera experience do I need?

This isn’t a course for learning to operate a camera from scratch. It’s for photographers confident behind a camera, whether you run a business, are a student, or a passionate amateur.

What if I’m not a portrait photographer?

The skills apply to maternity, family, fine-art, commercial and creative work, and carry across to wherever your photography takes you.

Do I need a scuba certification?

No. The Masterclass is held in a pool. You need to be able to swim and be comfortable in the water.

What happens after I register my interest?

You’ll be the first to hear when dates are released. Once they are, you’ll be invited to make a deposit to secure your place. The remaining balance is then due 14 days before the Masterclass.

Where is the Masterclass held?

Full venue details will be included when dates are released.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you’re unable to attend, your place is refundable where it can be filled by someone else. If I need to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund. Full details are in the Masterclass Terms.
